Transit Maintenance Facility

GLHN provided professional mechanical and electrical design services
to RNL Design, Inc. of Denver for the $14 million facility. The
facility was designed to be entirely Compressed Natural Gas (CNG);
no liquid fuels were to be dispensed. Mechanical design included
HVAC and plumbing design for five buildings, as well as all-outside-air
systems for the vehicle maintenance bays coupled with an open-path
compressed natural gas detection system designed to open bay doors
and activate building purge fans to vent lighter-than-air fuels
out of the building. Electrical design for the project included
interior and exterior lighting systems in compliance with local
lighting ordinances, and power systems design for all buildings,
as well as 12.47kV service and distribution for building systems
as well as the electrically-powered natural gas compressors for
the fueling facility. |
