Public Safety Training Academy
City of Tucson
GLHN is currently in the process of formulating a comprehensive campus
master plan and coordinated development plan to meet the programmatic
needs of the Academy (operated jointly by the Tucson police and fire
departments), over the next 15 years. The existing facility had no
current master plan and the GLHN team is designing new classroom,
meeting and conference areas, computer training, physical training,
and scenario training facilities. While respecting the character and
vocabulary of the existing architecture, the new buildings and building
additions will also embrace sustainable design principles in siting,
materials, and design. Reclaimed water will be stored and reused for
fire training, gray water used for new xeriscape landscaping, and
solar and wind generation used for supplemental campus energy. |
