South Campus Central Plant
Northern Arizona University
The 8,000 sf South Campus Central Plant was designed with an unusual,
creative approach that presents a routinely unattractive building
type in a unique manner that opens it up visually to the surrounding
campus community. The north wall of the plant is glass and the major
equipment assets and piping are color-coded and illuminated to showcase
the functions of the plant. The building can thus be enjoyed by
passers-by as a work of mechanical art. Designed as part of the
$6.5 million South Campus Infrastructure Upgrades Project, the Central
Plant is an example of GLHN's capacity to successfully manage the
requirements of a large-scale construction project in a higher educational
setting while also addressing design concerns in a unique and creative
way. |
