Gross Anatomy Laboratory
University of Arizona
Renovation of the Gross Anatomy Lab at the Arizona Health Sciences
Center increased the size of the facility to 28 specimen dissection
stations. Programmatic and circulation issues relating to the
work stations involved were planned in detail with the user group.
A specially-designed slotted ventilation hood was designed to
mate to each of the work station dissection tables, which were
ergonomically designed and provided for rapid and repeated breakdown
for cleaning. GLHN constructed a full-scale prototype to test
design concepts and custom stainless steel fabrications. Commissioning
and start-up of this innovative, "first-of-a-kind" laboratory
space was remarkably simple, and ongoing air monitoring has proven
the design to be excellent. |
